Smartphone Insurance (1 YEAR) – Schutzklick
Schutzklick provides an affordable insurance option in Germany for new smartphones of any brand. When spending quite a lot of money on your new smartphone, you might want to consider getting an insurance for it which covers any physical damages or theft. Schutzklick can cover these damages for your, so that can have piece of mind when using your new smartphone everyday. These are the key facts of the Schutzklick insurance:

How to book your insurance
In order to book the insurance plan you need, just select the smartphone model from the selection-menu. If your model is not in the list, just select “Sonstige” and in the next step provide the normal purchase price for your smartphone (manufacturer price). Select if you want to buy the insurance for 1 or 2 years and click on “Bestellen” and provide the serial number of your phone, your name, address and e-mail address.
The yearly fee starts at 39,95€ for smartphones with a price up to 250€. In case you cancel the insurance, you will get the money back for the remaining days of the year you paid for. See the yearly prices for different smartphone values below.
Smartphones up to 500€ – 59,95€ per year
Smartphones up to 750€ – 84,95€ per year
Smartphones up to 1000€ – 99,95€ per year
Smartphones up to 1500€ – 119,95€ per year
In case of a damage, you will need to pay a deductible towards the repair/replacement cost:
Smartphones up to 250€ – 30,00€ deductible in case of damage
Smartphones up to 500€ – 50,00€ deductible in case of damage
Smartphones up to 750€ – 70,00€ deductible in case of damage
Smartphones up to 1000€ – 100,00€ deductible in case of damage
Smartphones up to 1500€ – 150,00€ deductible in case of damage
This is a considerable cost – if you prefer not to have a deductible, consider the insurance tariff from Friendsurance, which has no deductible in the premium plan.
You need to provide a copy of your purchase receipt in case of a damage.
The premium tariff cannot be booked if the phone is older than 1 month.
The basic tariff cannot be booked if the phone is older than 3 months.
If you do not book the insurance on the day of purchase, there is a waiting time of 4 weeks.
